Wallick Volunteers Refresh Community Spaces for Summer
Wallick associates receive 8 paid hours of volunteer service every year through Wallick’s Heart of Service volunteer program. Earlier this summer, associates put those hours to use outdoors, refreshing garden spaces at one of our senior living communities and helping beautify an outdoor gathering space at a local church in Groveport.
At The Ashford on Broad, one of our senior living communities, volunteers spent several hours refreshing the courtyard and preparing its garden areas for residents. The team removed old garden beds, relocated soil, power-washed sidewalks, assembled new raised beds and spruced up the surrounding greenery. Our residents truly enjoy the gardens here. Several resident patios face the courtyard, and residents use the garden beds to tend their own plants. They even help care for a family of ducks that has made The Ashford on Broad’s courtyard its home.
With the new beds ready for planting, we look forward to sharing more photos as the gardens begin to grow. Special thanks to volunteers from our Marketing & Branding, PMO and Senior Living teams: Alanis, Brady, Erin, Emelia, James, Michael, Tam, Tom, Eric L., Eric M. Malik and Thom.
Wallick volunteers also supported the High Point Fellowship Beautification Project in Groveport. Brennan and ElliBleu from our Corporate Accounting Team helped plant flowers, weed and landscape, contributing to a more welcoming outdoor space for worship and community gatherings. They were joined by Schill Landscaping and Environmental Pest Management, which also donated plants, materials, tools and volunteer support.
At Wallick, we understand the importance of investing in shared spaces. It’s one way we show respect for residents, our communities, and each other. Thank you to all volunteers who braved the summer heat and demonstrated what Heart of Service looks like in action!
