Wallick Breaks Ground on First Affordable Assisted Living Community, The Ashford at The Enclave

On Thursday, October 16, Wallick celebrated the start of construction for The Ashford at The Enclave, a $30 million senior living community in Northwood, Ohio.

Wallick CEO Amy Albery shares opening remarks at the groundbreaking event.

This is Wallick’s first affordable assisted living community, combining housing and assisted living services to make high-quality care accessible for seniors of all incomes.

The project is situated within a master-planned community known as The Enclave, on the site of the former Woodville Mall.

The Ashford at The Enclave addresses a growing need for safe, affordable senior housing in Northwest Ohio. By pairing Medicaid reimbursement with 4% federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), the community will help seniors access care while keeping costs manageable.

When complete, the 75,000-square-foot Ashford at The Enclave will offer 110 units—77 fully accessible and the remainder adaptable. Residents will have access to formal and casual dining, multipurpose rooms, a salon, community spaces, housekeeping and laundry on each floor, and a central courtyard.
