Wallick is thrilled to celebrate the full opening of Dr. Violet T. Lewis Village, a $29.3 million affordable senior housing community bringing 105 quality apartment homes to Detroit residents age 55 and older.
Co-developed by Wallick and Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, the community preserves two historic buildings from the former Lewis College of Business—Michigan’s only HBCU—while adding a new 73-home residential building. Where students once gained skills that opened doors to professional careers, longtime Detroiters can now find safe, stable and affordable homes. It’s a meaningful continuation of Dr. Violet T. Lewis’ legacy of expanding opportunity for others.

Harding Heights Apartments is in the news!
The Marion Star recently featured the groundbreaking of Wallick’s new $17 million affordable senior housing development in Marion. The future community will bring 50 apartment homes to seniors age 55 and older and marks another step in our continued investment in the Marion area.

Wallick SVP of Development Alexis Dunfee was recently profiled in Affordable Housing News’ Power Women feature. In it, she highlights how Wallick is evolving its approach to development, expanding into new states and embracing deeper, more creative collaboration with community partners and local government.
The piece spotlights Wallick’s expansion into North Carolina, including Burrell Lofts, a $31 million affordable senior housing community in Raleigh’s South Park neighborhood that is helping to address displacement and provide homes for lifelong residents.

Wallick CEO Amy Albery is co-chairing the leadership team behind Licking County’s first comprehensive plan in more than 25 years. This countywide effort is aimed at uniting municipalities and townships around long-term decisions on growth, infrastructure, housing, conservation and economic development.

Across Ohio, state funding is helping developers turn big ideas into reality, including Wallick’s Central Park project in Heath.
We’re proud to play a part in creating spaces that bring housing, jobs and amenities to areas where growth is happening. Columbus Business First recently highlighted how programs are fueling developments across the state.
Wallick’s two TMUD awards (totaling $10 million) help support Central Park’s long-term vision, including 1,800 homes, new jobs and an experience more like what you’d find in larger cities.

We’re proud to share that Wallick has been recognized by Affordable Housing Finance as one of the Top 10 Companies Completing Substantial Rehabs in 2024, with 730 affordable housing units revitalized last year.
This achievement reflects our enduring commitment to preserving and enhancing affordable housing communities across the Midwest. Notable projects include the $7 million renovation of Cypress Commons in Middletown, OH, where we upgraded 44 units with modern amenities and improved accessibility.
In addition to our rehabilitation efforts, Wallick is expanding into workforce housing to address the needs of middle-income families. Our Corners Crossing development in Traverse City, MI, is a 192-unit community designed to provide high-quality, affordable housing for residents earning between 80-120% of the area median income.
These initiatives align with our mission to open doors to homes, opportunities, and hope. We extend our gratitude to our dedicated team, partners, and the communities we serve for their support in making these projects possible.
On September 19, Wallick Communities CFO Sarah Malone was named an honoree in Columbus Business First’s 2024 C-Suite Awards. These awards acknowledge the most admired leaders and top executives in Central Ohio.
Recognized in the “CFO or equivalent” category, Sarah received a C-Suite Award in celebration of her transformational and innovative leadership, which includes increasing cross-departmental collaboration, integrating a deeper understanding of financial strategy into the organizational structure, and spearheading Wallick’s transition into an employee-owned company.
