Wallick Awarded 9% LIHTC for Two Senior Housing Communities in North Carolina
Wallick has been awarded two highly competitive 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) allocations from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) to support the development of Onyx Place in Wilmington, NC, and Archer Commons in Morganton, NC.
Together, these communities will add 96 affordable apartments for seniors, advancing our mission to create high-quality housing that supports independence and well-being.
Once completed, these two communities will bring Wallick’s total number of homes in North Carolina to 396.
Onyx Place – Wilmington, NC
Onyx Place will be a four-story community with 48 apartments for seniors (55+) earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The development will offer a mix of 28 one-bedroom and 20 two-bedroom apartments, each with energy-efficient appliances and in-unit washer/dryer hookups.
The $14.2 million project is being developed in partnership with Tightlines Designs, Inc., Mc2 Engineering, the City of Wilmington, Partnership Property Management, and NCHFA.
