Lighthouse Ridge Apartments Awarded $1.5 Million in 9% Tax Credits

Lighthouse Ridge Apartments, Wallick’s latest planned affordable housing development in South Haven, Michigan, has been awarded $1.5 million in competitive 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA). We thank MSHDA for awarding these credits and for their ongoing commitment to expanding affordable housing in Michigan. In partnership with Bogan Developments and Mno-Bmadsen, Lighthouse Ridge Apartments will bring 52 high-quality, affordable multi-family housing units to South Haven Township.

Located just 1.5 miles from downtown South Haven, the development will feature two- and three-bedroom units with modern amenities, including a clubhouse, exercise room, computer center, playground and green space.

This unique collaboration with Bogan Developments and Mno-Bmadsen, the non-gaming investment arm of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, will provide housing for tribal citizens and will address a critical housing need. Lighthouse Ridge Apartments will also advance goals outlined in the Michigan Statewide Housing Plan focused on equity, strengthening the housing ecosystem and expanding affordable options in rural communities.

Notably, this project marks the county’s first new Low-Income Housing Tax Credit allocation since 2015. With rents serving households earning 30% to 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), Lighthouse Ridge Apartments will offer safe, secure housing in the heart of South Haven for families.

Thank you to our Michigan Development Team, Graham Welling, Brennon Davis, Nate Dedrick and Owen Dickson, for their commitment to bringing Lighthouse Ridge to life.
