Wallick Works to Shape Industry Through Advocacy and Education

As a leader in affordable housing, Wallick Communities feels a strong responsibility to support and advocate for affordable housing policies, programs and funding at federal, state and local levels of government.
Recently, Wallick's Advocacy Task Force participated in two roundtable discussions with the Ohio Gubernatorial candidates and separately took part in discussions and interactions with the candidates and their staff. The purpose of these sessions was to present and discuss an Ohio Housing Platform to the State's next governor.
Our Task Force also successfully worked with U.S. Congressman Troy Balderson of Ohio's 12th District to gain his support of H.R. 1661 — The Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act. Congressman Balderson signed on as a co-sponsor of this important legislation in late October.
More recently Wallick's Bill Hinga had the opportunity to discuss housing policies with five U.S. Congressional members from Ohio: Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congressman Steve Stivers, Congressman Bill Johnson, Congressman Warren Davidson, and Congressman Jim Jordan.
When it comes to meeting the need for affordable housing, advocacy is just one piece of the puzzle — education is another. In November, some of our Company's best will serve as panelists at the Ohio Housing Conference, including:
